Public Service Campaign

The Black Hills Advertising Federation is entrusted each year to take on and create an advertising campaign for a local non-profit organization. These organizations are the recipients of the combined talents and skills of BHAF members.

This year’s recipient of the Public Service Campaign will be South Dakota Sportsmen Against Hunger. This program encourages hunters to donate deer, antelope and elk to the organization, and the meat will be used to feed needy families in South Dakota. This program helps to control the wildlife population and supports those who might otherwise go hungry. This win-win approach was a large reason Sportsmen Against Hunger was chosen to receive BHAF’s support.

Jeff Olson, local Dentist and avid sportsman, is the local representative for Sportsmen Against Hunger and pointed out that this year, sportsmen who donate there deer to the program will NOT have to pay any processing fees. Sportsmen Against Hunger will pay the fee for up to four anterless deer to one of 60 processing sites across the state.

In Olson’s request to for the PSA, he hoped that BHAF could do the one thing the organization difficulty doing – “Getting the word out.” BHAF looks forward to doing just that!
